Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is Pilates and how is it different from other workouts?

Pilates is a movement system that focuses on strengthening your core, improving flexibility, alignment and mind-body awareness. It differs from typical gym workouts by emphasising controlled movements, precision, breath and whole-body connection rather than just heavy lifting or high intensity cardio.

Wear comfortable, fitted athletic clothing (so your instructor can see your movement and alignment). Bring a water bottle, and optionally a towel. If you have any special grips or socks required (in studio) you can bring those too — check in advance.

As a guideline, doing Pilates 2-3 times a week is a great start for noticeable improvements in strength and flexibility. If you can manage 3+ times then even better. Consistency matters more than only doing long sessions occasionally.
